s1lence (2003)

Whether something succeeds often depends on the right timing. When I finally finished my short film 's1lence' in 2003, the terms 'nerd', '8-bit', 'wormholes', 'drones', 'hackers' were not yet anchored in the collective consciousness.

That's why my wacky movie about the hapless nerd Michi Schmidt, whose three wishes - to conquer the heart of a beautiful woman, to study at a big university and to be the first man to land on Mars - didn't get much attention.

Shot as a no-budget production with the two graduates of the Bochum Drama School Rike Schäffer and Timo Wenzel, 's1lence' now (hopefully) exudes a little more of its nerdy charm. Wohl bekomms ;)

P.S. By the way, Rike Schäffer plays the first incarnation of Lisa Arnold, a character known from my Internet thriller 'escape'. And the talking cell phone 'Phil' is already there, too.
