Somewhere in Germany

"The Mark" as an eBook on the iPad mini (left) and as a paperback (right).

On October 24, 2004, I made my first entry in this blog under the headline "Welcome, Folks!". In the short note I talk about the screening of my short film s1lence - and that I'm not done with the revision of 'Das Mal' yet. Well, 'only' 3319 days later, there was another postal shipment from my book distributor createspace.com. (See picture).'Das Mal' has now manifested itself as a paperback. Okay. It took. Nine years. "And suddenly you panic as time flies. You stand there as if you had missed the train. And see how nothing happens ..." wrote Mr. Maahn once.Art comes from 'ability' and not from 'will' - but a certain persistence pays off in my opinion ;)Now the paperback of 'Das Mal' is available for only 8,99€ at amazon.

Favorite Song:

Wolf Mahn, Somewhere in Germany (1993)

When you're born in this country There where the big one eats the little ones There hopes blossom and are burned so quickly There dreams are hidden and run into the sand And suddenly you panic as time flies You stand there as if you had missed the train And see how nothing happens And you stand there with your back to the wall Still have the ticket in your hand

Somewhere in Germany

So and so many times you weren't consistent So many opportunities you missed Yes and so and so often you didn't dare And then you stay behind With this anger in your bellyYYou turn a blind eye and think to yourself: Doesn't matter! And you say to yourself as if you had gambled away your hand: But next time! And you know you can win Got the new cards already in your hand

Somewhere in Germany

Sometimes I wish I was just like an animal Or a disciple of a rosy sect That happiness was just staring out of my eyes Or like millions who go home and watch TV Have learned to live in other people's worlds Their own can't seem to match it It was just stomped out of the ground
